Good to know
Can I upload my own photo?
Yes. Start with your own photograph — no address or map search needed. It could be your home, a favourite view, a wedding venue or a place from your travels. Choose a clear, high-resolution image that you took or have permission to use, then preview your print before ordering.
What if I don't have a photo of the place?
Search for your place in the poster maker and choose from the reference photographs available for that location. If there isn't a suitable view, you can upload your own. Illustrated styles use the selected photograph as a reference for AI-generated artwork; check the details in your finished preview before approving it. Or make a street map instead — it needs no photo at all.
Can I make a map of my street?
Yes. Search any street, town or postcode in the UK, drag and zoom the map until it's framed just right, then choose the colours, the layout and your words. The roads, rivers and parks come from OpenStreetMap, so it shows the real streets as they run. Make a street map.
Can I put more than one place on a poster?
Yes — a story map puts two or three places on one poster: where you met, where you said I do, your first home. Each is a real street map in its own shape, with its own line underneath. You can also put one of your own photos in place of a map — the two of you on your wedding day, say, or your first front door. Make a story map.
Can I print my photo without an illustrated effect?
Yes. Choose the photograph option to keep your original image rather than turn it into AI-illustrated artwork. Choose your layout and crop, then check the preview and image-quality guidance before selecting a print size.
Will I see my poster before I pay?
Yes. You'll see a preview before checkout. Check the picture, crop and any wording carefully before approving your print. Illustrated artwork takes time to generate, and any available changes or regeneration limits are shown in the poster maker.
Can I add my own words?
Yes — the place name, a subtitle and a short message such as “Where we met” or a date, set in print-sharp type. Please check your spelling carefully — we'll print the wording you approve. The preview updates as you type.
What sizes and finishes can I choose?
A3, A2 and A1 on premium matte poster paper, unframed or framed in black, white or natural wood. Canvas comes in 30×45, 40×60 and 60×90cm. You choose after you've seen your poster, and the price is shown before you buy.
What if it arrives damaged?
We'll put it right. Email hello@herelooksgood.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the damage and the packaging, and we'll reprint it for free or refund you in full — your choice. You don't need to send it back.
